When Polyphony Digital decided to skip a single-player campaign in its latest Gran Turismo game, the move shocked just about everyone who has played the series before. Single-player was previously what the series was all about, and yet it was ditching that for a hardcore multiplayer experience. Bewildering, to say the least.

That's changing next month as it's confirmed that Gran Turismo Sport will be getting a GT League update. No longer are you forced to ram your car into other players online. Instead, you'll have four leagues to play through where you can ram your car into A.I. opponents who can't report you to the developers for bad manners.

While this addition is a no brainer, it seems it's required quite a bit of work based upon the screenshots that were released. This will be a full blown addition to the game, that apparently will come with no cost.

Even better, Polyphony Digital is adding 15 new cars to the game. Yup, they include the infamous Skyline R32 and R34, but also some surprises like the Ferrari F40 and Lamborghini Countach.

As someone who plays Gran Turismo Sport nearly every day, this is a big deal that will change my opinion from not recommending the game to hoping that some friends pick it up so we can whine together about how there still aren't enough cars in the game.

Gran Turismo Sport has already been hit with by far the lowest Metascore of the series, but at the very least it can make a comeback and prove that it's still relevant. Frankly, the whole situation reminds me of Driveclub and how that game has transformed from garbage into an amazing game, but that's for another time.
